Would you like to learn how to play the Oud? Or perhaps you want to brush up your existing skills?
Our dedicated teaching team will ensure that you benefit from their experience, using a wide range of oud tips and techniques to develop ear-training and an understanding of Arabic music theory.
We offer private tuitions (one-on-one), or if you prefer to learn with a friend, you can book a group session with our in-house teachers in the store in Hawalli. The lessons will introduce beginners to the Arabic tonal system, maqam theory, and Middle Eastern rhythms. Your tutor will also help you use your ear training in maqam recognition.
A basic overview of what you will learn within the first few lessons is:

- Tuning the Oud
- Playing position
- Stringing the Oud
- Musical notation
- Scales, chords, arpeggios, tremolo technique
We also stock a wide range of traditional oud music sheets; ranging from basic chords and progressions to Um Kalthoum classics.
